PESHAWAR: City police arrested four suspects on the charges of sexually assaulting a transgender person and shaving her hair after abduction on outskirts of the city during early hours of Thursday.

SP Saddar Circle Waqar Ahmed said that the transgender person, identified as Sweety, along with other fellows was returning from a music programme in Hazar Khwani area in the limits of Rehman Baba police station during early hours of Thursday when she was abducted by some suspects. He said that the suspects sexually assaulted her and also shaved her head afterwards.

He said that following a complaint by the transgender person, the police arrested four accused identified as Younas, Abdullah, Anas and Hayataullah.

A police official said that the accused also filmed the assault on video. He said that police were also looking for five other accused in the case.

He said that the police had booked the accused for unnatural offence, abduction, causing head injuries, etc.
