CHARSADDA: Former inspector general of police Mohammad Abbas Khan was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Prang area here on Wednesday.

He died due to protracted illness at his residence in Pir Bala locality of Peshawar. He was over 80. He was brother of former KP chief secretary Mohammad Azam and father of Zarak Khan and Mohammad Arsalan Khan.

Abbas Khan remained the IGP of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh and commandant of FC. He also remained caretaker minister for local government in KP during 90s.

His funeral prayers were attended by political leaders, bureaucrats, FC officials, relatives and local people, including QWP chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, PPP leader Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti and others.
