DADU: Two children were killed when a fire broke out in a heap of chaff in Hasil Chandio village, some 22 kilometres from here on Thursday.
The children were playing in the cattle pen close to their house when the chaff stock kept inside caught fire and swiftly spread all around. The, children, Bilawal Chandio, 6, and Dua Chandio, 5, stated to be his cousin, suffered fatal burns.
Residents of the village made hectic efforts to put out the fire and retrieve the children’s bodies. They believed that flames from the kitchen of an adjacent house caused the chaff stock to catch fire.
