KASUR: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Friday cancelled his visit to Kasur at the eleventh hour.

A day earlier, the district administration spent a hectic day giving the city a new look. The route to the DHQ hospital, coronavirus vaccination centre at the District Public School and tehsil office was spruced up. The general public faced inconvenience amid the official activities of painting the roundabouts and cleaning the greenbelt and roads.

The PTI workers and office-bearers also held meetings to accord a welcome to the chief minister. Law-enforcement agencies drew up a plan to ensure foolproof security.

The chief minister was expected to visit the DHQ Hospital and its guest house, vaccination centre at the District Public School, the tehsil office, the record centre and the shrine of Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah. After waiting for a long time, the district administration learnt that the chief minister had cancelled the visit due to his preoccupation in Lahore.

Deputy Commissioner Asiya Gul visited these places. During a visit to the tehsil office, the DC suspended registery moharrar Sheikh Bilal Ahmed for his absence.

The district information office on Friday issued a press release saying ‘the DC paid a surprise visit to various places in the city’.
