SWAT: A man here on Tuesday shot dead four family members and injured two others over a domestic issue in Deolai village of Kabal tehsil, the police said.

Kabal police officials said Mohammad Ali opened indiscriminate fire leaving his mother, two brothers and a sister-in-law dead. Two other family members sustained critical injuries in the incident. The injured were rushed to the Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital.

DSP Badshah Hazrat said the incident occurred in the morning and the police reached the spot and arrested the accused. He said the initial investigation showed that the accused had some psychological issues.

However, the local residents said the accused had no psychological issues and the incident happened over a property dispute.

“The accused used a repeater gun to kill his family members. How a mentally disturbed person can use a modern weapon which needs quite a skill,” Abdul Salam, a local, said.
