RAWALPINDI: Security forces on Friday killed a commander of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in South Waziristan.

The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation on a terrorist hideout after confirmation of terrorists’ presence in the Sharmangi area of Tiarza in South Waziristan, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

“During an exchange of fire, a high value target, terrorist commander (TTP) Nooristan alias Hasan Baba, [was] killed,” the ISPR said.

The most wanted TTP commander killed in the operation was an improvised explosive device expert and master trainer and was involved in the martyrdom of more than 50 security personnel since 2007, it added.
