PESHAWAR: Students belonging to merged districts on Wednesday claimed irrelevant people had got admissions on fake documents in professional colleges, and urged the government to probe the matter and cancel the admissions within three days.

Speaking at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club here, Fata Students Federation (FSF) president Mohammad Jasim Afridi said the illegal admissions had deprived the deserving students of their due rights.

Flanked by the FSF office-bearers, including Zahid Shah Zaid and Shehzad Essa Khan Orakzai , he said those using the fake documents had also availed the scholarships meant for the merged districts’ students. He said the government should cancel the admissions given on fake documents and accommodate the deserving students of the merged districts to remove unrest among them.

FSF chief Jasim Afridi recalled the government had announced increase in the admission quota and other facilities for the students during the merger process, but it failed to fulfill the commitments.

Besides, he said the government had also neglected the people of merged districts in appointments in various departments.
