TAXILA: Punjab Minister for Revenue retired Col Malik Mohammad Anwar said that urban digitalization system was being introduced with the support of the World Bank.

While visiting Fatehjang computerised land record centre, he said the registry system has been computerised in 100 different tehsils of the province.

Attock Deputy Commissioner Ali Annan Qammar, Fatehjang assistant commissioner Azeem Awan and other officials were also present on the occasion.

He said modern technology was being introduced in the land record centres to keep the system smooth and transparent.

He claimed that revolutionary steps had been taken in Punjab Revenue Department to facilitate farmers and to enhance revenue collection. The minister said that good governance, transparency and provision of better facilities to people were the top priority of the government.

The minister said 115 computerised land record centres and 20 mobile centres had been set up while 23 commercial banks had been given access to digital land record for the facilitation of farmers.

He said an agreement has been signed between the revenue department and Federal Board of Revenue regarding sharing of data, which increased 80 per cent income of the department.

He said agriculture loans were being given to farmers for Rabi and Kharif crops of the fiscal year 2020-21.

Later, the minister visited the under construction trauma centre established on the premises of tehsil headquarters hospital.

Briefing the minister, Deputy Commissioner Ali Annan Qammar said the 16-bed state-of-the-art trauma centre would be established in two months’ time with an estimated cost of Rs15 million.

He said to provide better emergency services to the victims of road fatalities on inter district and inter province routes, as many as eight state-of-the-art trauma centres would be established across the Attock district.

He said the other trauma centres would be established along G.T. Road near Islamabad- Peshawar motorway and under construction China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
