LAHORE: The metro bus service remained suspended on Thursday for about five hours from Gajjumata to Kalma Chowk section after a group of visually challenged people staged a protest amid sit-in at the middle of the track.

Though the local administration officials tried to convince the protesters refused to do so, forcing the Punjab Mass Transit Authority to suspend the operation between Gajjumata to Kalma Chowk section and run the buses between Gaddafi Stadium station to Shahdara stations.

“It has been the seventh protest by them in the middle of the track at Kalma Chowk since Jan 2020, forcing us to suspend the operation ,” an official source told Dawn.

“The service remained suspended from 9:21am to 2:00pm.”
