BAHAWALNAGAR: A langur (an Asian monkey belonging to the subfamily Colobinae) that crossed over into Pakistani territory from India, was caught by local wildlife department staff on Wednesday.

On being informed of the presence of a langur in the city’s Anarkali Bazaar area, a team of local wildlife officials reached there and caught it with the help of locals after hectic efforts.

District Wildlife Officer Munawwar Najmi said the animal that crossed over from India into the Pakistani territory, would be kept in the local zoo.
