The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for domestic flights amid the second wave of the coronavirus.

According to the authority:

  • No persons except the passengers and the airport staff will be allowed to go beyond the parking area
  • The Airport Security Force (ASF) will ensure that no people enter the Passenger Terminal without face masks
  • Airport managers will ensure social distancing at every stage
  • Airlines will ensure availability of alcohol-based hand sanitisers
  • The aircraft will be disinfected at every station
  • Passengers will have to wear face masks throughout the flight
  • Meals will not be served on any type of domestic flight

In a notification, the CAA said the rules are applicable from Jan 1 to March 31.
