KHYBER: Pashtun Tahafuz Movement chief Manzoor Pashteen has demanded an immediate release of party MNA Ali Wazir and several other PTM workers arrested by the police in different parts of the country.

Police arrested Mr Wazir on Dec 17 in connection with a case registered against him and several leaders of the PTM in Karachi after a recent public meeting.

They were accused of committing several offences, including hatching a criminal conspiracy and passing derogatory remarks against state institutions.

Speaking at a public meeting in Bara tehsil on Sunday, Mr Pashteen also demanded an end to targeted killings of innocent people in different parts of the country, especially in North and South Waziristan tribal districts.

Scores of PTM supporters braved the biting cold weather and continuous rain on Sunday as they took part in the public meeting.

Good to see Dawn is at least mentioning PTM and one can understand why it can't share full story. Roads well blocked to Jalsa avenue, LEAs were not lettng rallies to enter Barra, participants were tortured and 150 of them were arrested. PTM also demanded fair trial for missing persons. Manzoor condemned illegal occupation of lands and homes by security forces in Tirah khyber while describing plight of 20K Tirah IDPs families and demanded their immediate rehabilitation to their lands.

The founding father of PTM is not pukhtun. He orchestrated this party through his stalwart Farhatullah, first to drama about Najeebulah case, then after abandoning that case, all endeavors to settle scores with security institutions. The Federal Govt must take action against all notorious elements including their godfather.
