RAWALPINDI: Pakistan International Airlines on Friday announced a special discount in fare on Skardu and Gilgit routes.

A PIA spokesman Abdullah Hafeez said the airline had announced a one way minimum fare starting from Rs6,915 for flights to /from Islamabad to Gilgit and Skardu.

He said PIA Chief Executive Officer retired Air Marshal Arshad Malik while speaking to the marketing team and airline officials at a review meeting instructed them to provide best services to the passengers traveling on domestic as well as international flights.

The CEO also instructed the employees to work with new zeal, strength and enthusiasm for the betterment of the airline with the start of the New Year.

He said the special fare had been announced keeping in view the weather conditions and providing convenient, accessible and affordable air travel facility, specially to the people of northern areas and other PIA travelers.

The PIA had already announced up to 30pc discount on domestic flights operating between Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Peshawar from Dec 3.

The passengers would be able to travel between these cities on on e-way fare of Rs8,500 and a round trip minimum fare of Rs17,000.
