LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan on Thursday suspended hearing of regular cases at the principal seat and allied benches for two weeks in the wake of the surge in the Covid-19 cases during its second wave.

A notification said the regular judicial work would remain suspended at the high court during the next weeks, commencing from Dec 14. It said the next two weeks had been declared motion weeks and only urgent nature cases and the cases fixed by the court would be heard.

The winter vacation at the LHC will commence from Dec 25 and will continue till Jan 8.
