SANGHAR: A man was arrested for allegedly subjecting an eight-year-old girl to rape near Khadro, a small town in Sanghar district, on Monday.

The girl’s father had lodged a complaint against the suspect stating that he took her to a desolate place near the town and criminally assaulted her. The complainant said his daughter was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood.

The girl was rushed to the Sinjhoro Taluka Hospital where her condition was stated to be critical due to profuse bleeding.

SHO Mohammad Ali Zardari of the Khadro police station said that the suspect was being interrogated and an investigation into the case was under way.
