International squash starts today

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan International Squash Tournaments for men and women is going to start from Monday here at the Mushaf Squash Complex.

The five-day event — which being participated by a number of top players — is being organised by Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) in collaboration with Pakistan Air Force.

According to a PSF media release, the men’s event has a prize money of $12,000 whereas the women’s competition carries $6,000.

The PSF further said that the tournament is also being organised to provide opportunity to players from all across the country to challenge their mental and physical toughness.

“This tournament is a true manifestation of the PAF’s commitment in promoting sports both at national and international levels,” it said.

Top four players in the men’s vvent are Tayyab Aslam, Asim Khan, Farhan Mehboob and Amaad Farid whereas Amna Fayyaz, Faiza Zafar, Madina Zafar and Moqaddas Ashraf dominate the women’s list.
