Background music

Published December 1, 2020

MOST of the news broadcast on our TV channels are accompanied with background music that is so loud that it requires a particular level of concentration just to hear the actual news.

As senior citizens, most of our hours are spent listening to news and in no foreign news channel, be it BBC, CNN or Al Jazeera, do we hear background music this loud. Secondly, one channel plays the national anthem as its background music. This is an affront to the national anthem which should never be used for commercial purposes. This practice must stop.
