TAXILA: Two officials, including the incharge of the land record centre Attock, were arrested for their alleged involvement in illegal transfer of land worth millions of rupees belonging to a retired schoolteacher.

Saeed Ahmad Khan, the circle officer Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Attock, told media that Mohammad Iqbal lodged a complaint with the deputy commissioner on Aug 20 about the illegal transfer of one kanal and 62 marla owned by his deceased wife Nasim Akhtar, who was a retired schoolteacher.

The deputy commissioner referred the complaint to the ACE for an inquiry.

The inquiry showed that Nusrat Naheed along with her daughter Faiza Riaz, sister of the late woman, had got the land transferred in the name of her sister and daughter fraudulently in connivance with two officials of the land record centre in 2019.

Mr Khan said after the probe it transpired that both Nusrat Naheed and Faiza Riaz in connivance with a female assistant director of the land record and a male service centre official had fraudulently transferred the land.
