HYDERABAD: Members of the Christian community in Latifabad held a protest demonstration outside the local press club on Friday demanding action against a teacher of a government primary school for allegedly harassing a class-II student.

The protest was led by family members of the seven-year-old victim and other community members. They said the girl studied in the Govt Primary School, Christian Colony, Latifabad, where one of her schoolteachers allegedly harassed her on Nov 12. When she raised a hue and cry, her classmates and some other students gathered around her and by that time the school’s headmaster also turned up. The teacher was beaten up by the headmaster and other teachers and later the errant teacher left the school premises. The girl narrated the episode to her family.

He parents demanded action against the teacher and submitted an application to the Hyderabad SSP for legal action in the matter.
