SWABI: A man allegedly killed his former wife in Baja village here on Monday with the help of his two sons.

SHO Farooq Khan told Dawn that Ibrar Khan of Baja village had divorced Raif Begum over differences few months after marriage around four years ago.

He said the woman married Said Afzal of Kotha village soon after divorce to the anger of her first husband and sons Fawad Khan and Azam Khan.

The SHO said Ibrar Khan and his sons opened fire at Raif Begum as she visited the Musakhel area.

He said the woman died of critical injuries on the spot.

The body was shifted to the district headquarters hospital for postmortem.

The SHO said the police had arrested gunmen Ibrar and Fawad, while the arrest of Azam hadn’t been made for being a teenage boy.

DRUG PUSHERS HELD: The police on Monday arrested two drug dealers and a cattle thief on Monday.

Chota Lahor DSP Taj Mohammad Khan told reporters that Mohammad Hashim alias Hashi of Tordher area was arrested after the recovery of 3,129 grams of cannabis hidden in a 100-volt battery, while Roman Khan of Jalsai area was taken into custody after 2,584 grams cannabis was recovered from his possession.

Also, the police arrested Shah Fahad of Jahangira Mohallah in Pathanabad over cattle theft.
