ISLAMABAD: More than a hundred people tested positive for Covid-19 in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Capital administration officials said that 73 people tested positive on Monday, followed by 118 people on Tuesday. There were 3,697 tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

There were 18 cases reported in G-6, followed by seven each in I-8 and DHA II, six cases each in I-9, F-8 and F-11, four cases each in Tarlai, H-8, G-13 and G-10, three cases each in Soan Garden, Shah Allah Ditta, G-9, G-8, F-6, F-10, E-11 and Chak Shahzad, two cases each in Margalla Town, G-7, G-5, G-15, G-11, Bhara Kahu and Banigala and one case each in Media Town, National Police Foundation, Korang Town, Jinnah Garden, I-4, G-14, I-10, D-17, B-17, Bahria Enclave and F-15.

Rawalpindi

Two people have died and 10 people were diagnosed with Covid-19 in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, while 15 patients have recovered from the disease.

A 45-year-old resident of Bakra Mandi was brought to Holy Family Hospital on Oct 18 and died late Monday night. A resident of Bahria Town Phase VII was brought to Bahria International Hospital on Oct 19 and died early Tuesday morning.

Rawalpindi has reported 7,348 confirmed cases of Covid-19 till date, with 302 deaths and 6,883 recoveries.

There are currently 295 people awaiting the results of their Covid-19 tests.

There are 18 patients admitted to Holy Family Hospital, of which 10 are from within Rawalpindi district. Another 145 patients are isolated in their homes and being checked on by 10 district health authority teams.

Local administrations have quarantined 545 people whose results are awaited.

Commissioner retired Capt Mohammad Mehmood told Dawn that 8,794 people have tested positive for Covid-19 since March, including 7,348 in Rawalpindi, 645 in Attock, 503 in Jhelum and 298 in Chakwal.

He said 8,238 recoveries have been reported – 6,883 in Rawalpindi, 614 in Attock, 488 in Jhelum and 253 in Chakwal. In addition, 370 people have died, including 302 in Rawalpindi, 39 in Chakwal, 20 in Attock and nine in Jhelum.
