LAHORE: A trader reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself in his temple in Defence here on Saturday.

Identified as Mohammad Usman (45), the trader was running a business of iron and steel in Misri Shah and residing in D Block of Defence.

A police official said the family of the deceased alerted the Defence B police when they heard a gunshot and then found Usman in a pool of blood.

They rushed the injured man to hospital where he breathed his last. The police after legal formalities handed over body to the family when it refused to lodge any complaint.

To a question, the police official said Usman used his own licenced pistol to kill himself.
