ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said on Thursday that the positivity of Covid-19 cases was 2.37 per cent on Wednesday.

“National positivity of Covid cases was 2.37% yesterday. This is the highest positivity in more than 50 days. Last time this level was seen on Aug 23. First 4 days of this week Covid deaths average is 11 per day..highest since week of Aug 10th. Unmistakable signs of rise of corona,” he said in a tweet on Thursday.

It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Imran Khan has already warned people of a possible second wave of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Asad Umar suggested to the people to follow SOPs (standard operating procedures) announced by the government for protection from Covid-19.

Asks people to strictly observe SOPs

The second wave of Covid-19 outbreak has already begun in a number of European countries and in some countries, including France, even a partial curfew has been imposed.

Meanwhile, the National Command and Operation Centre on Covid-19 on Thursday stated that 756 people tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday and 13 people lost their lives due to Covid-19.

According to it, there was no Covid-19 patient on ventilators in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Balochistan. However, overall 77 ventilators were occupied by Covid-19 patients across the country, out of 1,884 ventilators allocated for the purpose.
