BAHAWALPUR: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Thursday inaugurated the new building of the Bahawalpur railway station.

The building which has been completed at a cost of more than Rs200 million, had been opened for passengers some time ago but was formally inaugurated by the minister on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Rashid lashed out at the opposition leaders and said Prime Minister Imran Khan would not spare them. He said Imran Khan would rather say goodbye to power but not spare the opposition and corrupt leaders.

He said Imran Khan was waging jihad against thieves and corrupt leaders. He said the opposition would scatter and its eight to 15 leaders would dissociate themselves from it. However, he said, Imran Khan would not give them any relaxation.

He said Imran Khan would give the Senate election tickets in March. He alleged that an international conspiracy was being hatched to destabilise Pakistan and “a man is sitting in London”. He warned that whosoever spoke against Pakistan’s armed forces would face punishment.

Commenting about PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, he said he (Zardari) was a wise man and knew when to get admission to hospital and when to get back home.

The railways minister categorically said there would be no cut in the fares.
