Islamabad library

THE number of students using Islamabad Public Library has increased since many of the other libraries are closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is the only library which is helping students study, provided they follow the standard operating procedures. While the library management’s decision to allow students entry is laudable, there are some lacunae that need to be addressed.

The library needs to improve basic facilities such as drinking water and restrooms. However, the major problem is that of noise pollution.

Since the library is located next to the excise office, hundreds of people visit the place to pay their motor vehicle tax or to get their vehicles registered.

They usually park their vehicle around the library. In the process, some of the inconsiderate people use their horns and sirens, which disturbs people using the library.

The library management and excise department officials need to resolve this problem.
