HARIPUR: A woman and her son succumbed to burn injuries in the hospital here.

According to the family and police, Waheeda Bibi of Pharhari village suffered burns after a gas cylinder exploded in her house on Sept 12 morning.

Her son Tashfeen Ali and husband Raja Abdul Rauf were also injured as they tried to rescue the woman.

The injured were shifted to the Wah Cantonment Hospital, where Waheeda Bibi and Tashfeen Ali died in the early hours of Thursday.

The condition of Raja Abdul Rauf was stated to be out of danger.

ARRESTS PROMISED: Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has promised the early arrest of the killers of PTI leader Malik Tahir Iqbal saying the police are investigating the murder along scientific lines.

He told reporters at the house of the deceased in Khalabat Township on Wednesday that Malik Tahir had no enmity and was a thorough gentleman, who had always supported the party and the people of Haripur.

Senator Pir Sabir Shah also visited Tahir Iqbal’s house and offered Fateha for the deceased.

Meanwhile, a man was killed inside his house in Sera-i-Saleh area here, police said on Wednesday.

A resident of Mohallah Rehana Road told police that she went to the house her parents on Tuesday morning and returned next day to find her husband dead.

She said her husband had no enmity.

The police registered a case against unidentified gunmen and began investigation.
