NORTH WAZIRISTAN: A soldier was martyred in a roadside bomb blast near the Afghan border in North Waziristan tribal district on Saturday, officials said.

The incident took place in Land Momadkhel area of Datakkel tehsil. They said that the remote-controlled device was planted along the shoulder of the main road. The martyred soldier identified as Sajid was patrolling the area when the bomb went off.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. However, no arrest was made till filing of this report.
