KOHAT, Sept 20: The Kohat University of Science and Technology has decided to double seats in various bachelors degree programmes for the benefit of those students who cannot afford to go to other cities for studies. The proposal was approved by vice-chancellor Dr. Zabita Khan Shinwari on Tuesday, a press release issued here said.

The faculties in which 100 per cent increase in seats had been approved are BBA, BB.IT and BCS.

These all courses are of four-year duration.

The vice-chancellor said that although there was extreme shortage of boarding, transportation and faculty in the KUST as new buildings were under construction, this decision was taken in view of the problems being faced by students of the region, especially the tribal areas.

The VC requested the federal and provincial governments to solve the problems being faced by the university in the promotion of education for all.—Correspondent
