ISLAMABAD: Prime Mini-ster Imran Khan on Wednesday expressed solidarity with the people of Lebanon on the loss of over 100 lives in horrible explosions that rocked Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday.

“We stand in solidarity with our Lebanese brethren in their difficult hour, sharing their sorrow & grief. May Allah grant speedy recovery to the injured & strength to the bereaved,” the prime minister said in a tweet.

He also expressed deep sorrow and grief on the incident that caused massive destruction in the port city and injuries to over 4,000 people. “Deeply pained to hear of the massive explosions in Beirut with precious lives lost and thousands injured,” he added.

Media reports quoted Pak­istan’s ambassador in Beirut as saying a Pakistan boy was killed in the blast and four family members were injured. The Pakistani family was said to be residing in an apartment near the blast site.
