SUKKUR: District and town administrations, political, religious and social organisations and trade bodies took out rallies across Sindh on Wednesday to mark Yaum-i-Istehsal-i-Kashmir and express solidarity with people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir who were observing ‘black day’ on completion of 365 days to the inhuman curfew imposed on the valley.
In Sukkur, Jacobabad, Ghotki, Kandhkot-Kashmore, Tangwani, Khanpur Mahar and Kandhkot, the town administrations and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) brought out rallies.
In Sukkur, mayor and deputy commissioner led a rally which was attended by officials of various government departments, scouts, traders and members of general public.
The leaders slammed Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir where Indian military had kept millions of people under siege for past one year. They were not even allowed to come out of their homes for Juma and Eid prayers, internet facility had been stopped and innocent citizens were being killed and injured by paramilitary forces, they said.
They said that international human rights organisations were acting as silent spectators and not taking any action against Indian atrocities.
MIRPURKHAS: Several rallies were taken out in Mirpurkhas city, Mirwah Gorchani, Digri, Tando Jan Mohammad, Jhuddo, Naokot and Kot Ghulam Mohammad as part of national condemnation of unabated brutalities by Indian forces in the occupied valley.
Mirpurkhas Commissioner Abdul Waheed Shaikh, who led the rally in the city, expressed the hope that Kashmiris would one day get freedom. Pakistani nation would continue to support Kashmir cause till Kashmiris secured their right to self-determination, he added.
THATTA: The district administration organised a big rally in protest against unending atrocities by Indian forces in the occupied valley. Led by assistant commissioner the rally participants pledged to continue struggle till Kashmiris secured all their rights.
SHIKARPUR: Activists of religious and political organisations took out rallies and staged demonstrations in the city and other towns of the district to express solidarity with people of occupied Kashmir.
Big rallies were organised by district administration, police, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, Jamaat-i-Islami, PTI, Pakistan Peoples Party, Shikarpur Bachayo Tehreek, Paramedical Staff Association and trade unions, which culminated at the press club.
The participants demanded Pakistan government and political parties’ leaders get united over Kashmir cause and mount pressure on international organisations to support Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
NAWABSHAH: Several political parties and organisations took out rallies to add their voice to national chorus against completion of a whole year to Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir.
All the rallies led by local leaders of JI, PTI, Shah Sachal Sami Organisation, Pakistan Zindabad Movement and police culminated outside the Nawabshah Press Club.
The protesters condemned Indian occupation of the valley and imposition of the most brutal and inhuman curfew of history on Jammu and Kashmir.
They said that Kashmir was an integral part of Pakistan and United Nations must intervene to have its resolutions on Kashmir implemented.
BADIN: Government employees, students, political activists and members of civil society took part in a rally held to mark the Yaum-i-Istehsal-i-Kashmir.
Deputy commissioner and SSP who led the rally said that independence of occupied Kashmir was near and condemned illegal merger of Kashmir into Indian territory.
MITHI: Several rallies were taken out in Mithi, Islamkot, Diplo, Nagarparkar, Chhachhro, Dahli, Chelhar, Dano Dhandal, Kaloi Kantio and other towns of Tharparkar district to express solidarity with people of Indian occupied Kashmir.
The participants in the rallies said that they stood shoulder to shoulder with the people of Indian occupied Kashmir.
In Mithi, DC Mohammad Nawaz Soho, PPP MNA Dr Mahesh Kumar Malani, municipal committee chairman Dr Manoj Malani and other prominent personalities led the rally. JI and other parties also took out rallies.
UMERKOT: A number of rallies were brought out by different organisations to express solidarity with people of occupied Kashmir.
A rally was led by deputy commissioner and SSP and another rally was participated by different minority communities under the aegis of All Sindh Bheel Panchayat.
Comrade Neelam Kumari, vice president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Sindh condemned unabated atrocities of Indian troops in occupied Kashmir and said Modi had incarcerated thousands of Kashmiris, including three former chief ministers and thousands of other prominent figures, but international community was silent over these brazen violations of human rights.
