QUETTA: Balochistan Minister for Finance Meer Zahoor Ahmed Buledi has lashed out at the opposition for its criticism of the provincial budget for 2020-21 and said that those questioning his performance as a minister should have fielded a candidate against him during the 2018 elections.

“Current government has increased the budget for provincial universities from Rs500 million to Rs1,700m, while new campuses for Law College and Engineering University have been approved,” Mr Buledi said in a tweet, adding that the federal government had approved Rs1.5m for the next phase of Turbat University.

Responding to criticism by opposition parties against him and a minister from Panjgur, Mr Buledi said those questioning “my performance should have placed candidates in Turbat and Panjgur”.
