PPP Senator Sherry Rehman has responded to PM's aide Zulfi Bukhari, telling him to test people arriving in Pakistan instead of letting them "just walk home" in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19.

In a tweet, she said: "Nobody is 'stigmatising' helpless overseas Pakistanis. Quite the opposite. Overseas Pakistanis have in fact been stranded for way 2 long! You need to be TESTING instead of letting people just walk home. Today at Islamabad airport they said NO such test is happening. This needs to change."

Bukhari had responded to Rehman's earlier comment about the risk of the virus spreading due to people arriving from abroad.

He had said: "Only 6pc of cases are from passengers coming from outside. Stop stigmatising helpless #OverseasPakistanis returning home under such harsh conditions for petty political gains. Misinformation is already leading you to disaster."

The Ministry of Overseas Pakistani also replied to Rehman's tweet, saying all overseas nationals landing at Islamabad airport were being tested for the coronavirus.
