The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has provided a total of 250 ventilators to provinces and federal territories to help them "overcome challenges in critical care", it said in a statement.

According to the NCOC, 72 ventilators have been given to Punjab, 52 each to Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 20 to Balochistan, 10 each to Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir and 34 to Islamabad.

The NCOC in its statement said that only 32 per cent of the total ventilators allocated for use by critically ill Covid-19 patients are currently being utilised.
