KARACHI: Pakistan’s banned middle-order batsman Umar Akmal has decided to file an appeal against his three-year ban and has hired a law firm owned by country’s eminent lawyer Dr Babar Awan to fight his case.

Reliable source close to Umar said that the law firm has started to prepare relevant papers for appeal against the suspension. Umar was banned for three years for violation an anti corruption code 2.4.4 [failure to report a corrupt approach].

The detailed judgment said Umar was approached twice by suspect elements.
