KARACHI: One more policeman died of Covid-19 on Monday, taking the death toll from the pandemic in the force to three, a police spokesperson said.

Assistant sub-inspector Sher Gul Niazi, 48, died during treatment at an isolation ward of the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi.

He was posted at the motor transport section in the Garden area.

The ASI was diagnosed with the virus on April 29. He was the third policeman who had fallen victim to the contagion in the metropolis.

The police said more than 150 policemen had been infected with the virus, a majority of them belonging to the city.
