MUZAFFARGARH: Two gunmen were killed in an encounter on Friday in Jatoi, some 80km from the city area.

The police said when they raided their hideout, gunmen were busy planning a robbery strike and seeing police the gang opened fire which was retaliated.

After a while, two gunmen were found killed with the firing of their own fellows who fled the scene.

The deceased were identified as Imran, alias Saddam, and Fiaz.

The bodies were sent to the Alipur Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for an autopsy.

The police said that these robbers were wanted in more 50 cases of robbery, murder, extortion and rape.

District Police Officer Syed Nadeem Abbas said that on Thursday the gang looted cash from traders and he formed a special team to arrest them.

JAIL: The Muzaffargarh Anjuman-i-Tajran distributed sanitizers to jail prisoners and installed a walkthrough gate in district jail on Friday.

Deputy Jail Superintendent Rao Nadeem Ahmad thanked traders. He said there was no case of coronovirus in the district jail while he made a quarantine centre where new prisoner would stay for two weeks.

He said the department was had taken care of SOPs.
