NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: The DNA report of journalist Aziz Memon, who was allegedly murdered, issued on Friday found traces of some other human DNA.

A team of doctors and forensic experts, including Prof Dr Mohammed Akbar Kazi, Dr Ali Mohammed Warayah, Rizwana Khanzada and Mohammed Hussain Soomro, concluded in the report that the nails of deceased Aziz Memon contained traces of some other human epithelial remains/other DNA and the mixed DNA profile had been preserved for further matching.

The body of Aziz Memon, a senior journalist working as reporter of Sindhi daily Kawish and KTN news channel, was found floating in a waterway near his hometown, Mehrabpur, last month.

Meanwhile Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) representatives from Naushahro Feroze have repeated the demand for immediate arrest of Mr Memon’s killers insisting that he was murdered.

In a statement issued here on Friday, Zahid Qaimkhani and Khalid Memon also demanded arrest of those who allegedly tampered with the deceased journalist’s initial post-mortem report.

The journalists noted that a joint investigation team was constituted on PFUJ’s demand after his family members had expressed their apprehensions about the initial probe into the matter.

They also urged the Sindh government to constitute a judicial commission to investigate the case.
