No power in Uthal

Published February 24, 2020

K-Electric has been carrying out a weekly electricity shutdown in Uthal and Lasbela cities. The notice for power outage till the evening is conveyed through a text message. However, contrary to the notice, power supply remains suspended till late night. Of late, this weekly power suspension has increased to thrice a week and last week Uthal was without power for four days.

According to K-electric officials the electricity shutdown is to carry out maintenance work in the grid station. I am also an engineer and would like to know what type of maintenance work is being done four days in a week.

The erratic power supply and poor service by K-electric have become unbearable and now that summer has arrived, one shudders at the thought of suffering long hours of loadshedding.

I urge the authorities concerned to look into this issue which is causing great discomfort to the people of Lasbela district.
