KARACHI: Ex-Olympians Samiullah Khan, Hanif Khan have lauded the role of IG Sindh Syed Syed Kaleem Imam in promoting the national game of hockey in the province.

A delegation was led by legendary hockey star Samiullah to meet IG Sindh Kaleem Imam at his office on Wednesday.

The other delegates included Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) secretary Syed Haider Hussain and senior sports journalist Mirza Iqbal Baig.

Kaleem paid rich tributes to hockey legends Hanif and Samiullah and also praised KHA for holding regular activity and hockey events and assured the association of his unconditional support.

He also praised Mirza Iqbal and called him an encyclopedia of sports journalism.

The IG directed Sindh Police hockey team to train under the supervision of Hanif Khan at the Olympian Hanif Khan-Dr Junaid Ali Shah Sports Complex. He also directed the authorities to immediately restore Sindh Police hockey ground in Garden West and appointed Haider as the focal person for the ground restoration.
