Maximum points for PTCL

KARACHI, Aug 22: Three second half goals gave PTCL a deserved 3-1 victory over Habib Bank (HBL) in the Premier League at Aga Khan Gymkhana on Monday. After a barren first half, PTCL opened the scoring with a 71st-minute Abdul Haq strike. Mohammad Ejaz took eight minutes to double the lead, while international Adeel Ahmad slotted home the third in the 84th minute.

The bankers recovered with an injury-time goal by Mohammad Ali but it was too late to act as PTCL walked away victors.

Pakistan Army and National Bank played a goalless draw at CDGK Stadium.

Tuesday’s fixtures: KRL v PWD at CDGK; KPT v Wapda at People’s Sports Complex.
