ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday allowed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to probe Mian Tariq, the main accused in the judge video case, inside Adiala jail.

The FIA had filed an application seeking permission of the court to investigate the accused who is confined in the jail.

Earlier last week, the ATC had dismissed the post-arrest bail plea of Nadir Khan, a co-accused in the case.

Nadir Khan, a cameraman, had filmed the video of accountability judge Arshad Malik.

Maryam Nawaz had claimed in a press conference last year that a judge had convicted his father as he was blackmailed because of the video.

However, Mr Malik alleged that the PML-N supporters used the immoral video to pressure him for the acquittal of Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference.

Mr Khan’s counsel argued that his client was a cameraman and was hired by Mian Tariq to film the judge.
