Hyderabad ‘W’ in semis

HYDERABAD, Aug 21: A five-wicket haul by Shoaib Leghari and a knock of 66 runs by Faisal Athar enabled Hyderabad White to qualify for the semifinal of Inter-district cricket tournament of Hyderabad Region at Niaz Stadium on Sunday.

They will now meet Sanghar of Group-A.

Playing first Hyderabad Green were bundled out at 121 runs in 33.2 overs thanks to fierce bowling by Shoaib who claimed 5-14. Azmee Ghumman grabbed 2-25.

Chasing the target Hyderabad White achieved the target in 17.1 overs as Faisal hit 66 runs with the help of three towering sixes and nine boundaries.

Sharjeel Khan remained unbeaten at 35.

In a Group-D match Nawabshah beat Khairpur at Shahi Bagh Stadium, Shikarpur.

Nawabshah, while playing first, scored 177 in 38.1 overs. Nasir Khanzada struck 35 and Abid Ali 21. Zohaib Ahmed claimed 3-25 and Nisar Ahmed 2-26.

Khairpur were all out at 147 runs with Zohaib Ahmed hitting 44. Nasir Khanzada claimed 3-29 and Abid Ali 2-24.
