UMERKOT: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Sindh chief minister and a number of ministers and politicians offered condolences over death of former provincial minister and MPA Syed Ali Mardan Shah at Kharoro Syed to the aggrieved family near here on Wednesday.

Murad and Bilawal consoled the brother Syed Noor Ali Shah, nephew Syed Sardar Shah and son Syed Amir Ali Shah of Mardan Shah. He died from cardiac arrest on Jan 19 at his residence in Kharoro Syed.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said the demise of Saeen Mardan had created a big vacuum in politics and society of Umerkot. He was a loyal and senior politician; kind to all his juniors, he added.

He said in answer to a question about flour crisis that they had purchased wheat from PASSCO but it could not be delivered to flour mills due to strike of transporters.

Bilawal in a comment book wrote: “We are saddened by the sudden demise of Syed Ali Mardan Shah. He dedicated his life to the PPP, people, politics and democracy. He was a true soldier of my mother. My mother always used to quote the struggle and victories of Mr Mardan. In fact he was a source of strength for my family and party.”
