THATTA: Criticising the performance of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) federal government, Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said on Tuesday that the “puppet government” had miserably failed to deliver.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a 100 MGD pump house station in Dhabeji, he said that the federal government might not be able to complete its term because of its own misdeeds.

The pump house station is meant to streamline supply of water to Karachi.

Claiming that Sindh is being treated like a ‘colony’, the PPP chairman criticised the federal government for its apparent reluctance to replace the inspector general of Sindh police. It would be better for the Centre to mind its own business and avoid poking its nose in the affairs of others, he added.

Mr Bhutto-Zardari said that for over a year he had been warning that the PTI government was incapable and that it could not deliver, adding that its incapability had been proved by the recent wheat flour crisis in the country.

He claimed that the PPP’s provincial government in Sindh had been performing well as compared to those of other federating units of the country. He said he had planned to visit all parts of the province in a bid to understand problems.

He said the federal government should realise the rights of Sindh. During a recent meeting of the Council of Common Interests, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had put up its demands, but to no avail. But, he added: “We would never allow anyone to usurp our rights.”
