KARACHI: Mayor Wasim Akhtar on Saturday left for the United States on a “personal visit”.
A spokesman for the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation said that the mayor had left along with his family on a one-week trip to America.
He said that Mr Akhtar left the country after obtaining due permission under the rules and regulations.
The spokesman said that Deputy Mayor Arshad Hasan would act as acting mayor in the absence of Mr Akhtar.
