PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Friday constituted a committee to identify and probe government employees holding dual nationality.

A statement issued here said that the decision was taken in a meeting of the secretaries committee, which was chaired by chief secretary Dr Kazim Niaz and also attended by KP finance minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra.

The decision to form a committee to identify dual national government officials had been taken in line with the apex court verdict. This committee would coordinate with a federal committee set up for the same purpose.

The body also took up recommendations of a committee regarding implementation of five per cent quota for the disabled in government jobs and decided to present the proposals for implementation as policy before the provincial cabinet.

Mr Jhagra briefed the meeting about the integrated budget call circular for preparation of next year’s budget and also issued the administrative secretaries with policy guidelines for budget preparation. He said that the government had set up a budget steering committee, headed by him, and all departments would submit their budgetary proposals to it.
