SWABI: Three road projects have been completed in Panjpir union council here at the cost of Rs120 million and these roads are expected to be inaugurated soon.

Sources said that the funds for reconstruction of 4.5 kilometres Shagai road, 2.5km Nanababa road and 2km Naray Lara road were allocated by the provincial government and work on these projects was started a year ago.

The reconstruction of roads in the constituency of MPA Aqibullah Khan was a longstanding demand of the local people.

The sources said that with completion of these roads the farmers could easily take their vegetables and other produce to markets in Swabi city. They said that the roads would also boost economic activities in the area.

MINISTER’S VISIT: MPA Rangaiz Khan said on Saturday in a meeting that provincial minister for tourism Atif Khan is expected to visit the famous Mahaban Mountain and Beergali regions soon where he would make important announcements, including construction of seven kilometres road from Beergali to Mahaban Mountain besides development of two sites for tourism.

The tourists would face no problem to reach the mountain top after construction of the road, he said.

STUDENTS WORRIED: The college and school students said on Saturday that extension of winter holidays due to harsh winter could make it difficult for them to complete their courses till the board examinations.

The FA/FSc examinations are scheduled to be started on April 16 and SSC in the first week of March across the province by all boards of intermediate and secondary education.

One of the students Hassan Zia said that they had studied only six of 13 chapters of biology so far and would have to cover the remaining seven chapters before the first year examination.
