RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Thursday issued notices to three illegal housing schemes in Murree for starting sale and purchase before getting approval from the competent authority.

RDA Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate has issued notices to the owners of three illegal housing schemes under Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010 .

The housing schemes are Murree Green Villas, Smart City/Arched Murree Housing Scheme near Patriata Chair Lift and Broha Farm Houses Murree in subdivision of Tehsil Murree, Rawalpindi.

“The civic body has decided to register an FIR against the housing schemes,” said RDA spokesman Hafiz Mohammad Irfan.

He said the RDA had advised the general public that they should not make investment in any unauthorised housing scheme whose status had been declared illegal by RDA.

He said that RDA Director General Ammara Khan had directed the MP&TE Directorate to take strict action against illegal housing schemes, development/construction of booking and site offices without any fear or favour.

The spokesman said the survey of the district had been started to find more illegal housing schemes in the area under its administrative control.

He said that to facilitate the people, the RDA had established a counter which was providing a update about legal and illegal properties in the district.
