KARACHI: Young Ameer Hamza and Mohammad Ali outplayed their opponents in the mens singles while Ibrahim Nouman won the under-15 title by defeating namesake Ibrahim Qureshi in the final at the 60th Sindh Sports Board Development Series Tennis Championship here at Union Club on Monday.

Meanwhile, Zayd Zaman also won his successive matches to advance in the under-9 category while in the Soft Ladies tennis, Syeda Eraj Batool beat Tahreem Yousuf 3-0 in the second round.

Earlier, on Sunday, Muhammad Irfan continued his impressive unbeaten run of winning all wheelchair tennis competitions this year when he eliminated Muhammad Ayub 5-3. A total of 11 wheelchair Tennis players reported for this event today.

Manzar Riaz, former President Karachi Tennis Association formally opened the wheelchair tennis event. Muhammad Ramzan was the guest of honor while Nadia Razzak, Secretary Para Sports Pakistan, Khalid Rehmani, Sarwar Hussain, Ishrat Zehra and Tina Khatri were also present.

Men’s singles: Ameer Hamza bt Saad Ahmed 6-0 6-0, Muhammad Ali bt Shoaib Abbas 6-4, 6-1

U-9 singles (second round): Zayd Zaman bt Hassan Farhan 4-1 5-3

U-13 singles (second Round): Ibrahim Nouman bt Ibrahim Qjureshi 5-3 4-1; Samer Zaman bt Ahsan Ahmed 4-2,4-5,4-2

U-15 singles (final): Ibrahim Nouman bt Ibrahim Qureshi 7-8-6-3

U-17 singles (round robin): Raheel bt Ashar 6-0, 6-1

Soft Ladies Singles (second round): Syeda Eraj Batool bt Tahreem Yousuf 3-0

Men’s doubles (round robin): Aqeel Shabbir +Murad Khan bt Kanit +Ameer Hamza 8-2.
