QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court on Monday issued notices to the chief secretary and officials concerned on a constitutional petition filed by Khalid Khan Kakar and Ehsanullah on the issue of road accidents on national highways.

The BHC bench, comprising Chief Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Justice Abdullah Baloch, issued notices while hearing the petition.

Advocate Ali Ahmed Kakar and Advocate Muhammad Khalid Kakar appeared on behalf of the petitioners.

The two petitioners said that highways had not been built as per the PC-I and because of this accidents were taking place. They blamed poor performance of the National Highway Authority for the accidents.

The BHC adjourned the hearing after issuing notices to the chief secretary and other officials.
